If you choose to undergo breast augmentation, a surgeon inserts an implant filled with a saline (salt) solution to improve the breast contour and increase the size of the breast. Eventually our offices will offer silicone breast implants once again. The breast reduction can be the solution to physical problems caused by overly large breasts. Our cosmetic surgeons can reduce the size of the breast through the removal of fatty tissue. Like breast augmentation, performed at our offices, breast reduction surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. Breast reduction usually has about the same recovery time as breast augmentation. Patients are advised that they should expect their recovery time to be about one to two weeks.

Breast Lift

Along with breast reduction and breast augmentation, our offices also perform breast lift surgery, or mastopexy. This procedure, like the breast augmentation, helps patients lift and enhance the shape of the breast. During the breast lift procedure, our cosmetic surgeon removes excess skin from the lower part of the breast, thus reshaping and lifting the breast for a more appealing figure. Some patients will receive breast implants during breast lift surgery. For these patients, breast enhancement will be performed in addition to the breast lift procedure to further improve the appearance of the breast. Newer approaches allow breast enhancement procedures to be performed with limited scars.
